At a women’s day celebration at Bishop Macdonell Catholic School, students from Grades 3 to 8 who participated in Girls Who Game, a collaborative program between Dell, Microsoft and Intel, which showed off projects about how to make their schools more sustainable through the video game called Minecraft. With women being underrepresented in STEM fields, programs like Girls Who Game are looking to make systemic change, giving students the opportunity to learn through play, with a focus on building global competencies and computational thinking.
