On March 12, Holy Child Catholic School’s Black Student Alliance (BSA) hosted "Celebrate Your Crown," a special event dedicated to honoring the beauty, history, and diversity of Black hair.

The initiative was created to encourage thoughtful conversations and celebrate the richness of Black culture within the school community. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of Black hair and its connection to identity, heritage, and self-expression.

"Celebrate Your Crown" highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating cultural diversity while fostering an inclusive environment where students feel proud of who they are. By focusing on the history and meaning behind different hairstyles and traditions, the event aimed to deepen understanding and promote respect among the student body.

Organized by the Black Student Alliance, the event reflected the group’s commitment to creating spaces where Black culture is recognized, celebrated, and shared with the broader school community.

School organizers hope that initiatives like "Celebrate Your Crown" will continue to inspire meaningful dialogue and empower students to embrace their identities with confidence and pride.
