St. Angela took part in a mental health initiative called Wellness Day. Classes had the opportunity to rotate through and participate in a variety of mindfulness and wellness activities, including yoga with a certified instructor, karate with Northern Karate Steel’s location, healthy smoothie making, Zumba, cooperative games, Catholic meditation, and music therapy, along with the creation of positive affirmations.
Throughout the day, students were introduced to different strategies that support mindfulness and overall well-being. It was a wonderful day of student engagement and reflection, while also helping to build positive habits for both mental and physical health. Students were also given a personal wellness passport, which was stamped at each station and served as a meaningful keepsake filled with strategies for supporting their mental health. We look forward to making this an annual event.
