This year, St. Brendan Catholic School participated in the Mic Drop Speech Writing Competition for the first time, offering students the opportunity to share their perspectives and explore equity-focused topics of their choice.
We are proud to celebrate Roywn, a Grade 3 student, who earned first place in the Primary Division and received a cash prize for her outstanding achievement. Her speech, Kids Are the Future, highlighted important issues such as education and access to basic necessities, including food and clean water.
Roywn also shared her personal contributions to a food drive, where she donated items such as beans and corn to Toronto Native Child and Family Services. She encouraged others to give back by supporting charitable organizations, including SickKids.
We are incredibly proud of Roywn’s accomplishment and her confident delivery. We look forward to seeing her continue to use her voice to inspire those around her.
