The staff and students at St. Catherine celebrated the Winter Olympics with a fun-filled day of activities. In the morning, students participated in Olympic-themed outdoor events. Teams represented different countries and took part in modified versions of Olympic events such as bobsled, biathlon, hockey, and a traditional Indigenous game, snowsnake. With the generous support of the Catholic School Parent Council (CSPC), students also enjoyed a break station where they could sip on hot chocolate and have a snack.
In the afternoon, teams worked together to create their country’s flag and a team cheer, which they presented at the closing ceremonies, where medals were awarded.
All staff and students had a wonderful time celebrating friendly competition and collaboration. A special thank you to Ms. Sajo and her Grade 7/8 class for serving as team leaders and running the outdoor events. Thank you to all staff for their support and participation in this fun-filled event.
