St. Gabriel Lalemant Catholic School had an incredible week at the 2025 Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) Skills Ontario LEGO Robotics Qualifiers, securing back-to-back victories in both the Junior and Intermediate competitions at St. André Catholic School.

On March 25, 2025 (Tuesday), the Junior team faced intense competition from eight schools. Despite three failed attempts on their second code, their determination paid off on the fourth try. Using four different programming runs, they successfully completed all missions before the time was up and achieved an outstanding score of 99/100, earning them first place and a ticket to the Skills Ontario Provincial Championship.

The excitement continued on Wednesday, March 26th, as the Intermediate team competed against 13 schools. Their robot had to complete three different tasks, and despite one retry, it successfully accomplished them all with astounding time. With precise coding and execution, the team earned a perfect score of 100/100, securing another first-place win for St. Gabriel Lalemant.

A huge thank you to Ms. Li, who guided and trained both teams, helping them achieve such outstanding results. Her support and expertise played a key role in their success.

Both teams will now proudly represent TCDSB at the Skills Ontario Provincial Championship at the Toronto Congress Center on May 5, 2025. Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and dedication. Good luck at the Provincials!
