St. Michael Catholic School is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone as students from its Mental Health Action Team have been awarded the 2025 Innovative Exemplary Practice Award. This prestigious recognition highlights the students’ leadership and commitment to promoting mental well-being across their school community.
The award celebrates the team’s impactful work in raising awareness about the power of language through their “Words Matter” campaign. Under the guidance of the Words Matter Leadership Team, students led a school-wide initiative encouraging positive expression. They brainstormed affirming messages, crafted bracelets with words of encouragement, and even collaborated to write and perform an original song centered on the influence of our words.
As part of the initiative, each student also contributed a personal message to a school-wide publication titled “Our Words Matter,” reflecting the voices and values of the entire student body.
This recognition marks a proud moment for St. Michael Catholic School, affirming the incredible efforts of its students to foster a compassionate, inclusive, and mentally healthy school environment.
