Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principals Message

At Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School, we spend an abundance of time thinking about the ways children learn and grow, and this understanding shapes everything we do — in the classroom, on our playing fields and in the community.

It’s a constant challenge to focus the energy and enthusiasm of all our students, but it’s critical, because we have pronounced expectations for them. We want them to develop in mind, body and spirit, so that they become discerning catholic graduates.  Our goal is to educate the whole child and an emphasis is placed not only on academics but on character education as well.  OLS is an educational institution that has embraced 21st century fluencies and it is our collective hope that we become leaders with this transformational methodology.

I leave you with some thoughts penned by Apple Incorporated, beliefs that are embraced by the community of learners at OLS:

"Here's To The Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world - are the ones who DO!"
