About Us

All Saints Catholic Elementary School is committed to Catholic education as outlined in the Mission Statement of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). With Catholic faith as our common bond, we focus on our students who come to us with a variety of strengths and needs. Our prayer life, liturgical celebrations, the sacraments, and our faith and values system form the foundation of our programs.

Our school policy encompasses routines and procedures which ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. The Code of Conduct emphasizes mutual respect, conflict resolution and self-discipline.  The safety of our students is of utmost importance at All Saints Catholic Elementary School.  The safe arrival and departure programs ensure constant home to school communication when a student is absent or late.  Our main priority is to ensure that students arrive to school and back home safely.

The school community endorses a dress code consisting of a navy blue and white and every student at All Saints Catholic Elementary School adheres to the dress code daily.

Please be aware that All Saints Catholic Elementary School is a scent-sensitive environment. Individuals in our building have sensitivities to scented products, resulting in adverse effects on their health. All staff, students and visitors are kindly asked to refrain from or minimize the use of scented products while at our building.

All Saints Catholic Elementary School also offers the PLASP Child Care Services Program, a not-for-profit community organization that provides affordable and high quality child care for working parents.  The program runs in the school building from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily and on PA Days programs.  Before and after-school snacks and activities are provided.

Daily prayers, religion lessons, monthly rosary sessions, and the integration of Gospel values across the curriculum, are integral components of our program.  Select classes also participate in “The Rosary in the Schools” program where students have the opportunity to pray the rosary and have it broadcast live on the Radio Maria radio network.  Active participation in the celebration of the Eucharist is taught, modeled and encouraged at All Saints Catholic Elementary School. Monthly masses and confessions are prepared in conjunction with our parish team and these masses allow for students from various divisions to take leadership roles as greeters, members of the processions, and readers.

Through the Religion and Family Life Programs in our school, students will deepen their understanding of the Catholic traditions, roles of Christian service, vocations, and responsible participation in the political and social spheres of community life. We hope to inspire our students through curriculum that is rooted in Gospel values and informed by the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations, helping them to realize their potential and to know what it means to be a discerning believer.

School History and Tradition

The history of All Saints Catholic Elementary School and All Saints Roman Catholic Church are closely linked. The school opened in the fall of 1962, and the parish had its first mass in the school yard on June 21, 1964. It would be three more years until the church was completed under the direction of Father Martin O'Grady, with the first mass being celebrated on the feast of All Saints Day on November 1, 1967. The tradition of this feast day continues to be an event of special celebration for both the Church and the school community.

The school was small when it first opened, but grew quickly to an enrolment of more than 750 students reflecting a cultural mix of many nationalities. In November 2003, a new state of the art facility opened featuring bright and spacious classrooms, heated flooring in the kindergarten classrooms, a fully integrated computer lab, modern gymnasium and sunlit atrium. As of 2012, the school celebrated its 50th Anniversary serving the community.

The school crest embodies icons representing prayer life, learning, knowledge, athletic achievement, and the motto “Love and Growth”. All Saints Catholic Elementary School is a caring school and community environment which stresses tolerance and acceptance of others, high academic standards and commitment to our Catholic faith. Graduates of Catholic schools are expected to follow a distinctive set of expectations not only in terms of knowledge and skills, but also in terms of values, attitudes and actions. Catholic education fosters the search for knowledge as a lifelong spiritual and academic journey and these same expectations guide our programs at All Saints Catholic Elementary School. Graduates are expected to be discerning believers who celebrate the signs and sacred mystery of God’s presence through word, worship and witness; effective communicators; reflective, creative, self-directed, responsible and lifelong thinkers; collaborative contributors; caring family members and responsible citizens.
