As we approach the highly anticipated Italian Heritage Month Celebration at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible response we have received from across the Toronto Catholic District School Board and beyond.
Hundreds of applications poured in from students across all grades, each one showcasing the immense talent, pride, and potential within our Italian Canadian community. From academic excellence and innovation to cultural preservation and leadership—this year’s submissions were nothing short of inspiring. The future is not only bright—it is brilliant.
We are incredibly excited to celebrate all of our scholarship winners and their families on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in what promises to be a powerful day of recognition, reflection, and cultural pride. This event is about more than a celebration—it’s about planting the seeds of mentorship, opportunity, and legacy for years to come.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Linda Novembre, Claudia Bonofiglio, and Andria Angelosante, whose tireless work behind the scenes not only secured the necessary funding but also exceeded our fundraising goals. Because of their exceptional efforts, we are proud to announce that we will be expanding our scholarship offerings in 2026, ensuring that even more students benefit from this program next year.
This is not about a one-time event—it’s about building a sustainable, empowering legacy. Our goal is nothing short of establishing a tradition that will one day celebrate its 25th anniversary, with generations of young Italian Canadians proudly carrying forward the torch of community, culture, and excellence.
