It is with great pride that we recognize the outstanding contributions of Coach Nicola Vescio, the driving force behind the launch of James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School's very first High Performance Athletics (HPA) Football Program.

Throughout the year, Coach Vescio has consistently gone above and beyond, offering his time, expertise, and strategic guidance not only to our student-athletes but also to colleagues across the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). His dedication is unwavering, and his impact is being felt well beyond our school walls.

Most recently, we received a request from Father Serra Catholic School, a community that truly values our HPA program. In response, Coach Vescio helped coordinate after-school coaching sessions in flag football—empowering student leaders to take part in the process while fostering a culture of mentorship and skill development. Shoutout to the student coaches who have been diligently working hard.

Coach Vescio’s commitment reflects the very best of what school-based athletics can be: inclusive, inspiring, and anchored in student success.

Well done, Coach—keep up the great work. Together, we are building a future where every student has the opportunity to compete, grow, and thrive.
