James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School's Track and Field team made a powerful statement at this week's Metro Championships, returning home with an impressive 17 medals and qualifying a school-record 19 athletes for the prestigious Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) competition. With qualifiers in 20 events, JCM will be one of the largest teams represented at Ontario’s biggest high school sporting event, set to take place in Toronto next week. JCM looks to for a 3-Peat as OFSAA Champions.

Egohsa E. – Ranked #1 in Canada in Senior Boys Discus and Senior Boys Shot Put
Adnal O. – Ranked #3 in Canada in Senior Boys Shot Put
The Junior Boys 4x100m Relay Team – Currently holds the fastest time in Ontario
In a display of talent and consistency, the team also secured a second-place finish overall in the city, competing against Catholic, public, and private schools across all age divisions—for the third consecutive year.

In addition to the medalists and qualifiers, over 60 dedicated athletes have been training since December. Their commitment and perseverance have been the backbone of the program's continued success and deserve recognition and applause.
The final meet of the season will take place June 5-7 at York University. Supporters are welcome to attend and cheer on the JCM athletes as they conclude a historic season. (Note: Entry fees apply for spectators.)
