On October 6, 2025 (Monday), James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic Secondary School hosted a Meet-and-Greet event designed for new English Language Learners. This was a great chance for students to connect with local Settlement Organizations providing resources and support to JCM's newest students.

Moving to a new country and community can be exciting, but it also comes with challenges. JCM's community settlement worker Ly Nguyen, along with her colleagues Luz Ampano (Settlement Worker) and Ray Fernandez (Youth Worker), ensured JCM students learned about resources like free services and language classes, job search help and youth programs. Students arrived with their own questions about life and practiced conversation with student buddies.

Students are looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and breaking bread together later on in the month!
