James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School’s football program has accomplished what few thought possible in such a short time. In only its second year of existence, JCM Football—rooted proudly in the Keele and Finch community—has surged from early growing pains to a breakout championship-game appearance. That remarkable rise is now highlighted by four JCM athletes being named to the Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association (TDCAA) All-Star Team, a testament not only to their talent, but to the program’s commitment, culture, and relentless work ethic.

This year’s All-Star selections showcase the heart of JCM’s defensive identity:

Defensive End – Adnal O.

A disruptive force on the edge, Adnal anchored the defensive line with explosive speed and relentless pursuit. His ability to collapse pockets and shut down outside runs made him one of the most feared defenders in the league. Adnal’s leadership and energy set the tone for the entire defensive unit.

Defensive End – Eghosa E.

Paired with Adnal on the opposite side, Eghosa formed the other half of a dominant defensive end duo. Powerful, disciplined, and technically sound, he consistently controlled the line of scrimmage. Offenses struggled to run or pass around him, often finding themselves pressured into mistakes.

Corner/Quarterback – Zion Q.

A lockdown corner with elite instincts, Zion erased top receivers at the all star game. His athleticism was displayed as he played QB for JCM, giving them the confidence to be aggressive. Zion turned the offence into a strength and became a key playmaker in clutch moments.

Linebacker – Alejandro Isa S.

A now 2x- All Star selection, Ali is the heartbeat at linebacker, Alejandro was the defense’s field general. With sideline to sideline range and sharp football IQ, he led the team in tackling and kept the defense organized and resilient. His leadership elevated those around him and helped stabilize the unit in critical situations throughout the season.

A Program Rising Fast

What makes this achievement even more inspiring is the program’s journey. In its first year, JCM Football faced tough competition, limited experience, and the typical struggles of a brand-new team. But those early challenges built character, unity, and hunger.

By year two, the transformation was undeniable. Through dedication, coaching, and the determination of players like Adnal, Eghosa, Zion, and Alejandro, the team stormed through the season and earned a well deserved trip to the championship game. Their collective impact was central to JCM’s success on the field, in the locker room, and throughout the school community.

A Beacon for the Keele and Finch Community

JCM Football has quickly become more than a team—it is a source of pride for the Keele and Finch area. The program’s rapid growth shows what can happen when young athletes are given opportunity, structure, and belief. The All-Star honors highlight not only individual excellence but also the promise of a program poised for long term success.

As JCM looks ahead to its third year, the foundation has been set. Expectations are rising. The community is energized. And the legacy of these four All-Stars will continue to inspire the next wave of Wolves chasing greatness.

Congratulations to Adnal O., Eghosa E., Zion Q., and Alejandro Isa S. on earning TDCAA All-Star recognition and on helping launch JCM Football into a new era.
