On Friday, December 5, James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic Secondary School's English as a Second Language (ESL) and Chaplaincy team hosted our very own JCM Christmas Café for all newcomers to the school. Students sipped on hot chocolate (complete with plenty of toppings), enjoyed an assortment of donuts, and played festive Bingo for fun prizes. For many, it was their first time tasting hot chocolate and candy canes and, playing Bingo, making the experience even more special.

To help students prepare for the winter season, a selection of hats, scarves, gloves, and other warm accessories were also available for them to take. The event created a warm and welcoming space where students could socialize and practice their language skills in a relaxed setting.

A special thank you goes out to Ms. J. Spada, who secured a generous donation from our local Tim Hortons to provide all the hot chocolate and donuts. The ESL and Chaplaincy team looks forward to hosting our next newcomer event in the new year.
