The James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School Track and Field Team delivered another historic performance at the 2026 Metro Toronto City Track and Field Championships, bringing home two major team titles and continuing a tradition of excellence that has made our school home to one of Ontario's premier track and field programs.
This year, JCM proudly claimed:
Metro Toronto Overall Combined (Co-Ed) Championship
Metro Toronto Senior Boys Championship
Competing against more than 130 schools from across Toronto, our student-athletes rose to the occasion, earning the Overall Combined Team Championship and surpassing several established track and field powerhouses, including St. Michael’s College School, Villanova College, Upper Canada College (UCC), Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute (Carr), Chaminade College School, Richview Collegiate Institute, Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute, and Central Technical School. The achievement adds another remarkable chapter to the program's growing championship legacy.
The team also enjoyed unprecedented individual success, winning an incredible 24 medals and qualifying a record 27 athletes for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) provincial championships held in London, Ontario—making JCM one of the largest contingents advancing to such.
