The 2026 Track and Field season has come to a close, and once again the James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School student-athletes have proven they belong among the very best programs in Ontario.
For the second straight year, JCM finished 3rd overall at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Track and Field Championships, placing third among all 920 secondary schools in Ontario. The result further solidifies the Cardinals' position as one of the premier high school track and field programs in Canada.
The program's remarkable four-year run at the provincial level is unmatched by most schools in the province:

Over the past four seasons, JCM has consistently competed at the highest level, establishing a culture of excellence that continues to produce elite athletes and championship performances.
Record-Breaking Depth
A major highlight of the 2026 season was the team's incredible depth. JCM sent a record 28 athletes to the OFSAA Championships, the most in school history. Athletes qualified across sprint, relay, jump, hurdle, and throwing events, demonstrating the strength and versatility of the track program.
The King and Queen of JCM Track and Field
The season was headlined by two of the greatest athletes ever to represent James Cardinal McGuigan.
Eghosa E.: The King of Canadian High School Throws
Eghosa capped off one of the most dominant careers in Ontario high school athletics history by earning two more OFSAA medals.
The senior thrower completed an incredible 4 peat in the Men's Shot Put, capturing his fourth consecutive OFSAA Gold Medal. He also added a Bronze Medal in the Men's Discus, bringing his career total to an astounding six OFSAA medals (5 Gold, 1 Bronze).
For four years, Eghosa has dominated Ontario throwing events and established himself as one of the finest high school throwers Canada has ever produced. His legacy at JCM is unmatched, earning him the title of the King.
Divine O.: The Queen Continues Her Reign
Not to be outdone, Divine once again showcased her dominance on the provincial stage.
Divine captured Gold in the Senior Women's Triple Jump, completing a remarkable three-peat as OFSAA Champion. Her consistency and excellence have made her one of Ontario's most dominant high school athletes and one of the greatest competitors in JCM history.
Together, Divine and Eghosa have redefined excellence at James Cardinal McGuigan. They leave behind a legacy as the most accomplished athletes the school has ever produced and among the most dominant high school athletes Ontario has seen in recent decades.
Relay Success on the Provincial Stage
For a second consecutive year, the Wolf Pack earned another OFSAA medal in the Novice Boys 4x100m Relay, capturing Silver against the best competition in the province.
The silver-medal relay team consisted of:

The Novice Girls 4x100m Relay Team narrowly missed the podium, finishing an outstanding 4th place in Ontario. Team members included:

The Senior Boys 4x100m Relay Team also reached the OFSAA final and finished 7th overall, represented by:

A Program Built for Sustained Excellence
Winning a season total of 171 medals overall, across all track meets, the 2026 season was about more than medals, points, and rankings. It was a reflection of a program built on commitment, teamwork, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Finishing 3rd in Ontario for the second consecutive year, sending a record 28 athletes to OFSAA, winning multiple provincial medals, and continuing a four year streak of podium finishes demonstrates the strength of the entire McGuigan Track and Field family.
As the curtain closes on the legendary careers of Eghosa Ehigiator and Divine Oriakhi, a new generation of JCM Athletes has already shown it is ready to continue the tradition. With talented athletes across every age group and event area, the future remains exceptionally bright.
