Under the leadership of Principal Mr. Persad, along with Vice-Principal Natalia Harispuru and Grade 7/8 teacher Nikolas Filice, James Culnan Catholic School has marked a significant milestone with the opening of its new school chapel and the consecration of the school to the care of St. Joseph.

This morning, the school community gathered in a profound spirit of faith to officially consecrate the school to St. Joseph and bless its new sacred space, the Our Lady of Fatima Chapel. The community was honoured to welcome Father Jorge from St. James Parish, who led the liturgy and formally dedicated the chapel as a place of prayer and peace.

A Morning of Prayer and Reflection
The ceremony was a beautiful testament to the school’s commitment to Catholic values:

  • Each class was represented in the foyer by their Virtue Award recipients for the month, standing as witnesses to the faith and character fostered at James Culnan.

  • While the blessing took place at the heart of the school, the entire student body participated prayerfully from their classrooms through the PA system and a visual presentation.

  • Dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, the chapel now serves as a sacred space where students and staff can find quiet reflection and deepen their connection to God.

Looking Ahead
By placing the school under the protection of St. Joseph, the community looks to his example of humble service and strength as a guiding light for the future.
