Grade 6 and 7 innovators from Mother Cabrini Catholic School brought coding, creativity, and French language learning together in an exciting cross‑curricular project. With the collaborative guidance of their Core French teacher, Mme Chafica Al‑Dahr, and classroom teacher, Ms. Jennifer Aucoin‑Goslin, students used LEGO Spike Robot kits—made possible through the support of the Experiential Learning and French Departments—to design and build their own robots.

The challenge pushed students to think like engineers and linguists. They coded their robotic creations, then showcased them in French, using specialized Tier 3 vocabulary to describe each component and function. Their final step: filming polished video presentations that highlighted both their technical skills and their growing confidence as French communicators.

This dynamic project celebrates the power of hands‑on learning, collaboration, and language in action - proof that when students build, create, and speak with purpose, extraordinary things happen.
