On May 8, 2026, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School welcomed the return of Meagan’s Hug, a meaningful annual event held in honour of former student Meagan Bebenek.
Meagan attended Our Lady of Sorrows before her passing, and the event continues to serve as a powerful tribute to her legacy of kindness, community, and compassion. Meagan’s Hug brings together students, staff, and the broader school community to celebrate her life and the lasting impact she continues to have on those who knew her and those who carry forward her story. The initiative is supported by the Meagan Bebenek Foundation, which works to honour Meagan’s memory and support children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Meagan’s Hug at Our Lady of Sorrows continues to be a deeply meaningful moment in the school year, bringing the community together in reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for a legacy that remains present within the school today.
