Our Lady of Victory Catholic School marked a special milestone on June 17, as the school community celebrated the Grade 8 graduation of Darlin, a student in the school's Multiple Exceptionalities/Developmental Disabilities (ME/DD) program.
Darlin, who has attended the school since kindergarten, was recognized during a graduation ceremony tailored to support her sensory needs while highlighting her academic and personal achievements. The ceremony was organized by ME/DD teacher Ms. V. Devine, who carefully planned the event to ensure it provided a meaningful and inclusive experience for the graduate and her family.
School staff praised Darlin's accomplishments and said the entire school community is proud of her success. The celebration also served as an opportunity to recognize Darlin’s teacher Ms. Devine, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 28 years teaching in the school's ME/DD program.
The school administration thanked Ms. Devine for her decades of service and dedication to students with exceptional learning needs, noting that she has made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and staff members throughout her career. Ms. Devine will be missed by the Our Lady of Victory Catholic School community as well as colleagues across the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB).
The school extended its congratulations to both Darlin on her graduation and Ms. Devine on her retirement, recognizing each for their achievements and contributions to the Our Lady of Victory school community.
