Grade 7 students at St. Aidan Catholic School were especially touched by May, when we celebrated Mother Mary. They looked at some gospel references about her and shared their family’s traditions, devotions, and stories about the Mother of God in their personal lives.
In addition, they were inspired by the letter written by the Toronto Bishop Francis Leo, which we used in class. He said, "When the waters of this life become rough and threaten to drown us, Mary helps us to navigate this adversity toward her Son, the source of our hope, the harbour of salvation."
Thinking about the symbolic meaning of water, we used watercolour to represent and learn more about a range of titles that the Virgin Mary can receive.
Holy Mary, pray for us!
