Dress Code

Strong school and home partnership is integral to the overall success of our students and of St. Anselm Catholic School. We appreciate every effort our parent community makes in upholding our school policies and procedures, including the Dress Code For Pupils policy of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). Implementation of the Dress Code policy supports our ability to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for students and promotes a sense of community and belonging.

St. Anselm follows a Colour/Appropriate Dress Code. The dress code consists of any combination of navy bottoms and white or navy blue tops. Below is a guideline to assist parent partners with ensuring that students are in compliance with the dress code.

It is the expectation of administration and staff that all students will be dressed as per the school’s dress code outlined above. Staff and administration continue to engage students in conversations about the school’s dress code (i.e., reminders about wearing the appropriate items, removing sweaters/jackets that are not part of the uniform when indoors) and communicating with families when students are not dressed as outlined. As such, it is important that parents also engage in these conversations at home and assist students with selecting items that comply with our dress code in advance of coming to school each day. Parents are ultimately responsible for elementary student dress.

To assist families who would appreciate having additional dress code items at home, we will continue to hold uniform exchanges. More details will follow in our subsequent communications.

If there are any questions or concerns regarding the policy, parents may wish to reach out to our main office. We will do our very best to assist you.
