An animation of a playground

St. Basil-the-Great College School is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new Inclusive Outdoor Active Zone, a dynamic fitness playscape designed to support movement, strength, and wellness for students of all abilities.

This exciting project was made possible through the unwavering advocacy of Trustee Ida Li Preti, whose leadership helped secure funding from the TCDSB Playground & Schoolyard Revitalization Fund. Each ward receives $125,000 annually through the fund to enhance schoolyards and outdoor learning spaces. Thanks to Trustee Li Preti’s dedication to student well-being, St. Basil’s is among the recipients this year.

The new Outdoor Active Zone features monkey bars, climbing platforms, balance beams, exercise ropes, and a variety of inclusive, adaptive fitness stations. More than just a playground, it serves as a welcoming space for physical development, confidence-building, and community engagement.

St. Basil’s extends its heartfelt gratitude to Trustee Li Preti and the TCDSB for their support in bringing this vision to life.
