Students from St. Basil-The-Great College School participated in National Day for Truth and Reconciliation through school-wide activities that encouraged reflection, learning, and community.
Students engaged in multiple activities, including the Orange Rock Activity, where each class painted and inscribed affirmations on orange stones to honour Indigenous children whose lives were lost or forever impacted by Canada’s residential school system. Together, these rocks created a powerful display around the trees on our school grounds, symbolizing respect, care, kindness, and our shared commitment to reconciliation.
We are grateful to our students and staff for the thoughtfulness and sincerity they brought to today’s events, and for helping us continue the important work of truth, healing, and reconciliation.
