Students at St. Brigid Catholic School recently enjoyed a lively and colourful celebration of Carnevale, thanks to the efforts of the school’s International Languages Team. Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of fun and engaging activities that brought the festive spirit of the traditional celebration to life.
The week-long festival featured decorative mask-making, energetic dancing, and outdoor cooperative games that encouraged students to work together while enjoying the festivities. A highlight for many students was the opportunity to sample traditional fried sweets, a treat often associated with Carnevale celebrations.
Adding to the excitement, two beloved characters from the traditional Italian celebration, Arlecchino and Pulcinella, made a special appearance, delighting students and staff alike. Their visit helped bring the cultural traditions of Carnevale to life and created memorable moments for everyone involved.
Members of the St. Brigid school community who attended the event shared in the joyful atmosphere, making the celebration a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about culture, connect with one another, and celebrate together.
The International Languages Team’s efforts helped create a vibrant and memorable week, leaving students with smiles, new experiences, and a deeper appreciation for cultural traditions.
