St Brigid Catholic School's Grade 7 students found inspiration with artist Julie Richey to create the project "Stations of the Cross". We worked to create a Lent Spirit in class and researched each Station of the Cross. As a result, the students wrote original poems, where they either explained or prayed at each Station.

The beauty of Art and the power of Lent together in the hallway inspired reflection. Here some words that we heard about it:

  • "Mrs. DM each time that I go here, I pick one and look carefully."

  • "It’s beautiful, but God deserves it! – doesn’t He?"

  • "I look at the picture and use it to do my own prayer."

As Pope Francis said: "Lent comes providentially to reawaken us, to shake us from our lethargy", and we find the way with visual art and poetry.
