During the month of March, students at St. Elizabeth Catholic School lit up the library—literally and figuratively—with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration at their very first GLOWometry Day.
The glow-in-the-dark event offered a unique spin on geometry learning, transforming the school’s library into a luminous theatre of discovery. Guided by dedicated staff, students from Early Years through to Grade 8 participated in a variety of spatial sense stations designed to make math meaningful and memorable.
Activities included shape sorting and classifying, tangram puzzles, 2D and 3D shape building, geometry-themed BINGO, and vocabulary matching. Each station was tailored to the students’ grade levels and understanding, ensuring that every learner had a chance to shine.
GLOWometry Day wasn’t just about having fun—it also aligned with the school’s academic goals, supporting St. Elizabeth’s School Improvement and Equity Plan (SIEP). By making learning engaging and interactive, the school continues to foster a positive environment where all students can thrive.
Staff and students alike described the event as a glowing success, with plans already in motion to bring GLOWometry Day back next year.
