On Friday, February 20, 2026, St. Fidelis hosted the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) and their Tour for Humanity workshop. The FSWC Tour for Humanity program is a mobile educational unit that travels across Canada to educate students about human rights and historical events related to the Holocaust, genocide worldwide, and Canada’s own history of racism and discrimination.
Grade 6 and 7 students at St. Fidelis were fortunate to welcome the interactive bus to their school and take part in this impactful learning experience within a unique classroom setting. The curriculum-linked workshop, “The Holocaust: Then and Now,” demonstrated that the Holocaust is not only a Jewish story, but a human story. Students explored the attitudes and social forces in Nazi Germany and across much of Europe that contributed to one of the darkest chapters in human history.
More information about the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center can be found on their official website.
