Appropriate Dress Code

As of September 2011, all elementary schools in the Toronto Catholic District School Board have implemented a mandatory appropriate dress code. Here is a review of what is acceptable wear at school:

The dress code consists of any combination of white and navy-blue garments (e.g., plain white top, navy blue bottom or, navy blue top and bottom, no denim, t-shirts, logos or writing); Also acceptable at St. Jean de Brebeuf are shirts purchased with our school's name and logo on it designed for special committees; Collared shirts only. Shirts must not have any logos or graphics including stripes; Sweater or hoodies must be white or navy blue including the laces and must not have any logos or graphics including stripes; All shorts and skirts must be fingertip length or longer.

Only walking shorts are permitted. No students are allowed to wear their pants low which is known as low riding; A change of clothing for Physical Education classes is strongly recommended for students in Grade 4 to 8. Students can wear any combination of colours for the classes including t-shirts, shorts or school jerseys but must change back into our dress code attire when Physical Education class has ended.
