St. Jude Catholic School has taken an inspiring approach to student well-being this year, with our Mental Health Team leading several initiatives that promote emotional growth, creativity, and positive school culture.
Throughout the year, our Grade 7 student leaders have delivered thoughtful mental health messages over the PA system three times a week. These messages were thoughtfully connected to the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) monthly virtues, and have challenged students to reflect and grow, helping to build a more supportive and reflective environment across the school.
During Mental Health Week, held from May 5 to 9, the entire student body participated in a series of art therapy sessions that culminated in vibrant murals across the school. Each division contributed a unique piece:
The Early Learning Program (ELP) students created a "Musical Masterpiece" by designing colourful music notes.
Primary students assembled a "Love" mural filled with patterned hearts.
Junior students brought energy and creativity to their "Kindness" graffiti wall.
Intermediate students painted an inspiring "You are…" mural filled with words of encouragement.
Each morning that week began on a positive note, with uplifting music playing as students entered the building, setting a joyful tone for the day.
St. Jude Catholic School extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated Grade 7 Mental Health Team leaders and to staff mentors R. Tramontin, G. DiIorio, and K. Does for their unwavering support and guidance. Together, they’ve helped foster a culture of compassion, creativity, and resilience.
