St. Mother Teresa's SHSM Sports, and Arts & Culture Programs

On Wednesday, November 19, students from St. Mother Teresa’s Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Sports and Arts and Culture programs took part in an invigorating Student Pathways Exploration (SPE) session with Tennis Canada. The event was hosted by Flashpoint at Sobeys Stadium, located at York University. Sobeys Stadium is home to Tennis Canada and the National Bank Open presented by Rogers—an annual stop on both the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tours.

Students had the opportunity to meet partners from Tennis Canada, learn what it takes to organize and operate major sports facilities, meet trainers and coaches, tour the venue, and hear from a panel of professionals who shared their career journeys in sports and wellness. They capped off the day with a learn-to-play tennis lesson led by Tennis Canada.

Thank you to Rebecca Earl, Flashpoint Training, Tennis Canada, and York University for providing a meaningful and memorable experience for our students. We look forward to future opportunities where they can continue to learn by doing!
