St. Mother Teresa Catholic Academy is stepping up to help those in need in Jamaica, as our school partnered with our local city councillor, the City of Toronto and the Jamaican Canadian Association to support relief efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. The collaboration aims to provide essential supplies to families who are struggling to rebuild their lives after the catastrophic storm.

Under the leadership of Principal Andrew Peacock and school staff, the school organized a donation to send essential resources to impacted communities. The donated items included first aid supplies, cleaning supplies, gloves, face masks, and other critical supplies that will aid in both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.

The relief donation drive is part of an ongoing effort to mobilize local support for Jamaica, which has faced overwhelming challenges in the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s destructive path. The school’s involvement is an example of the power of collaboration and community solidarity in the face of disaster. As families in the Caribbean continue to navigate the hardships brought on by the storm, efforts like these provide hope and tangible support for their recovery.
