Choir Members

We are happy to announce that we have managed to secure St. Edward’s Church (75 Churchill Ave.) for Staff Choir rehearsals. We’ll be able to accommodate more distanced people there than at St. Margaret’s School

Choir Maximum

A maximum of 50 choir members will be accommodated. We will still have online application, but sadly may not be able to accept everyone. As you know, we need to have some readers and some strong voices in each section, so that could mean varying slightly from the first 50 to register. We’re also aware that being distanced from other singers in your section may be problematic for some people. If that doesn’t work for you this year, we understand.

COVID Constraints

In order to make this happen, we will have to follow provincial guidelines which include:

  • anyone registering must be double vaxed

  • please don’t attend rehearsal if you are not feeling well

  • distancing will be required during rehearsals; the pews are marked where people can sit

  • please wear a mask going into the church and if you need to walk around at any point

  • please use the sanitizer as you arrive and as you leave

Because of the constraints, we will not have a refreshment break.

Rehearsals

Because of their busy schedule at the church, our rehearsals will have to be on Mondays.

Rehearsals will start at 4:45 pm and end at 6:00 pm

First rehearsal: MONDAY OCTOBER 18!!!

On Going

We will continue to monitor the situation, but it seems very unlikely that we will be able to have our traditional concert and wine and cheese social.

However, one option may be to do a shorter concert in the church, videotape it and send it out to everyone. If we do that, there may be the possibility of having a very small audience.

Choir Member Application

Here is the link for the Choir Member Application, which is open effective immediately.

Please remember that completing the application does not guarantee you a place in the choir.

We will confirm as soon as possible if we can include you in this year’s choir.

Thanks for your understanding in these difficult circumstances.
