STEAM Program

The paramount objective of our STEAM program at Chaminade College is to explore and investigate how the core subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) intersect and how these principle fields of study can be enriched via the amalgamation of our faith.

Student learning will be enriched in an environment focused on experiential approaches and student-centred teaching methodologies, which will foster dynamic and critical thinking. Our program, then, assures both the intellectual growth of students along with the growth of their moral compass, where empathy, diversity, ethics are celebrated alongside academic achievement.

While enrolled in STEAM at Chaminade College, students are actively encouraged to take creative and intellectual risks within courses that are designed to be culturally relevant, that integrate contemporary world issues into classroom discourse and that make them aware of their status as responsible global citizens.

For these reasons, STEAM teachers promote the student acquisition of a particular transferable skill set that includes such attributes as: critical thinking, creativity, and conscientious communication.

Consequently, the STEAM experience at Chaminade College empowers students to confidently pursue all their future endeavours within an ever evolving world.
