On Monday, December 8, Dante Alighieri Academy Catholic Secondary School’s Health and Wellness Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) students had the opportunity to join the SimKIDS team at The Hospital for Sick Kids for a dynamic day of learning about STEM in the healthcare sector.

Students took part in an Immersive Reality Room where the walls transformed into interactive buttons and projectors displaying 360° images to transport learners into a different reality, a Simulation Suite where they learned how vital signs are practiced on programmable mannequins, and engaged in Cardiac Crash, a video-interactive game that gave students hands-on CPR practice.

Students also met medical professionals who shared the educational path they took to reach their career goals and answered questions directly.

Thank you to Ms. Esowanne from the Central SHSM team for assisting with supervision.

It was a fun-filled day of hands-on learning that SHSM students thoroughly enjoyed!
