On April 28, educators from across the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) attended a professional development day at Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School. The focus of the PD Day was Lacrosse and Invasion and Territory Games. It was a fantastic day of learning and collaboration between the Indigenous Education Department and the Health / Physical / Outdoor Education Department.
The morning session explored the history, culture, and skills development of lacrosse, led by presenters Jim Calder and Adam Gardner. The afternoon session focused on hands-on skills development through CIRA invasion and territory games, led by presenter Marlee Corcoran.
A very special thank you to Anna Sersanti, HPE Department Head at Mary Ward, for her outstanding leadership and organization in creating such an informative and meaningful day.
