Students at St. Benedict Catholic School enjoyed an engaging and educational visit from the Dairy Farmers of Canada, who returned to the school for a day filled with discovery, creativity, and fun.
Throughout the day, students learned about the journey of dairy products from farm to fridge, explored the differences between liquids and solids, and gained valuable insight into the daily life of a dairy farmer in Ontario.
Leading the presentation was Dairy Farmer Emily, who created an interactive learning environment for the school's primary classes. Through a combination of videos, music, hands-on activities, educational games, and a butter-making demonstration, students were able to experience agricultural learning in an exciting and memorable way.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity for students to make their own butter and then sample it on crackers. The activity provided a delicious and practical lesson in food production that students thoroughly enjoyed.
To top off the day, students received dairy-themed giveaways, including cheese-shaped erasers and pencils, to take home.
The presentation was a tremendous success, leaving students with a greater appreciation for Ontario's dairy industry and the hardworking farmers who help provide nutritious products to families across the province.
It was, indeed, a truly moo-velous day at St. Benedict Catholic School.
