St. Benedict Catholic School library hosted a special author visit for the Grade One classes.
Elisabeth Grassby Stefan, author of My Puppy Sable and Sable Meets a New Friend, created a cozy, interactive environment while reading one of her popular books. The read-aloud was an excellent opportunity to help foster a love of reading, with young students exploring themes of friendship, empathy, and caring for a living creature. The story Sable Meets a New Friend is a heartwarming rhyming tale that reminds us to celebrate our uniqueness and appreciate our differences.
Elisabeth took the time to answer student questions and happily signed book copies. Students had the opportunity to meet the real-life Sable and interact with the friendly dog, which brought much excitement and joy.
Grade One classes left with puppy paw stickers and colouring pages as keepsakes. Elisabeth truly made this a fun and memorable visit, and Sable melted the hearts of staff and students alike.
