Academic Excellence
We are committed to helping every student reach their full potential through a strong focus on literacy and numeracy within a Catholic framework. Teachers use differentiated instruction and varied strategies to support diverse learning needs, including programs for gifted students and those with talents in music, drama, and art. Student progress is assessed using provincial standards, with strong collaboration among teachers, parents, students, and the wider community.
Meeting Diverse Learning Needs
We support a wide range of student abilities through early intervention, special education, enrichment and gifted programs, ESL support, and vocal and instrumental music. Technology is integrated into learning, while students also participate in interschool activities such as sports, W5H, and public speaking. Regular parent-school information sessions help strengthen communication and support student success.

School History and Tradition
St. Francis Xavier Catholic School welcomed its first students in 1959, with additions in 1964 and 1981 as the community grew. The school celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1984, the year of the papal visit.
Named after St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit priest and missionary who worked alongside Ignatius of Loyola, the school honours his missionary work in India and Japan and his dedication to spreading the Gospel. Canonized in 1622, his feast day is celebrated on December 3.
The school is part of the St. Fidelis Parish community, with students traditionally receiving First Communion and Confirmation through St. Fidelis Church, while some families also attend St. Bernard Parish. School liturgies are planned by a staff liturgical committee and celebrated at both the church and school throughout the academic and liturgical year.
