Celebrating Mental Health Awareness and Well-Being at St. John Bosco

The St. John Bosco school community recently came together to prioritize well-being during Mental Health Awareness Week. Students of all ages stepped away from their traditional routines to participate in creative, calming, and collaborative activities designed to support mental health.

Here are some examples of how students nurtured their well-being throughout the week:

Graffiti Art Studio: Students in Grades 3/4 to 8 participated in an engaging and impactful art workshop led by a graffiti artist that encouraged them to boldly express their emotions.

Music Wellness Workshop: Students from Kindergarten to Grade 2 explored rhythm and sound as powerful tools for stress relief and relaxation.

Primary Read-Alouds: Intermediate Mental Health Awareness Team (MHAT) leadership students visited primary classrooms to share uplifting stories about feelings and resilience.

Open Art and Design Space: A calm and welcoming environment was available in the library during lunch recess, giving students the opportunity to create, sketch, and unwind at their own pace.

Fun Fitness: Intermediate MHAT leadership students led primary students in a fun and active wellness activity that promoted healthy daily movement.

A big thank-you to all students for participating and helping make mental health a visible and celebrated priority within the school community!
