The students of Chaminade College School are looking forward to participating in the upcoming Waterloo Electric Vehicle Competition and the Computer Engineering Lego Robotics World Cup Soccer Challenge.

Chaminade Electric Vehicle Competition

Over the course of the year, Chaminade's students have been actively engaged in the Waterloo Electric Vehicle Competition, building a student led and designed go-kart to race and complete the most laps in the 12 volt/24 volt designated challenges. Now in the third year, students have refined their skills in welding, machining, electrical circuits and wiring and Engineering to optimize and improve upon previous builds in years past. Now in the final stages of design, testing and implementation, our students are excited to be competing in the Waterloo Electric Vehicle Competition this May against over 30 schools across Ontario! Should be an exciting few weeks ahead!

Lego Robotics World Cup Soccer Challenge

Over the past two weeks Chaminade Students have eagerly been preparing for their annual school run, Computer Engineering Lego Robotics World Cup competition. This Friday officially marks its tenth year of this amazing challenge. This tradition is an exciting opportunity for students to build, design in groups and alliance teams a Lego robot that can score, block and pass a rubber ball in a small walled indoor playing surface. Controlled by a tablet, students also program these robots to function with specific outcomes to achieve their desired goal. Students learn important skills in Computer and Electricial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics and Tech Design Development skills.
