On Wednesday, March 4, the Chaminade College School Football Gryphons celebrated the commitment of five current players, along with one former player, who signed their Letters of Intent to play University Sports football at the Canadian university level beginning in the fall of 2026.

Israel A., Malike O., Marlon B., and Matteo B. have all committed to the York University Lions. Israel A. and Malike O. each earned a full athletic scholarship from York University valued at $5,000. Christian Y. and David S.M. have committed to the University of Toronto.

The commitments of these student-athletes to the University of Toronto and York University continue a strong tradition of Chaminade football players advancing to these programs. Since the return of football to Chaminade in 2005, a total of 24 Gryphons have gone on to attend and play for these two universities. Overall, the Chaminade Football program has had 57 players commit to post-secondary football at the Canadian university, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) levels since 2005.

We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and the dedication they have shown both on and off the field. With a strong group of players currently at Chaminade, along with an excellent incoming class of Grade 8 students, we look forward to seeing many more Gryphons continue their football careers at the post-secondary level in the years ahead.
