Filipino students from across Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) secondary schools made history by launching the first-ever Filipino Central Student Event at Chaminade College School—a fully student-led initiative created by students, for students of Filipino/a/x heritage.

More than just an event, it provided a space for students to be seen, heard, and celebrated. The gathering focused on embracing identity, building meaningful connections, and showcasing the strength, pride, and vibrancy of the Filipino community. It was a powerful example of where culture meets leadership and where student voice takes center stage.

The school extends sincere thanks to the Central Team for selecting Chaminade as the host site, and to all TCDSB students and staff who participated on April 22, helping make the event both meaningful and memorable.

Congratulations to Michael Consul, who received the Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to student leadership and mentorship.

The evening was a celebration of connection, culture, and community.
