Through the Chaminade College School STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Program, students participated in the annual overnight educational trip to Algonquin Provincial Park during both semesters. Rooted in experiential and student-centred learning, the STEAM program encourages students to explore the connections between Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics while fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and ethical leadership.
This immersive experience provided students with the opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world ecosystems through meaningful, hands-on activities and environmental exploration. Through outdoor inquiry and collaborative learning, students deepened their understanding of the natural world while developing empathy, resilience, and a greater appreciation for diversity.
In addition to academic enrichment, students gained valuable life skills including cooking, campsite preparation, teamwork, independence, and confidence as learners. The trip reflected the STEAM program’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students to become thoughtful, responsible, and engaged global citizens.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Chaminade College School STEAM Team for making these enriching experiences possible. Special thanks to Ms. Valinho, Mr. Vona, Mr. Eliacin, and Ms. Raposo for their outstanding leadership, mentorship, and continued dedication to student success and growth.
