Every fall, Chaminade’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) students head north to Whitefish Lake in Algonquin Park for four days of science, outdoor adventure and plenty of memories.
The trip gives students the chance to put their classroom learning into practice through hands-on science experiments and ecological studies. They explore the park’s ecosystems, learn about local plants and wildlife, and discover more about Algonquin’s natural environment.
Beyond science, students hike through the park, play outdoor sports and spend time together under the stars while stargazing. They also take on the challenge of preparing their own camp meals, learning to work together and share camp responsibilities along the way.
It’s a Chaminade STEAM tradition that brings learning to life, creates lasting memories and gives students the opportunity to build lifelong friendships.
