We are proud to celebrate the Black Student Association (BSA) for being awarded the TCDSB Exemplary Practice Award for their outstanding work in hosting the first-ever TCDSB Black Professionals Career Fair. This initiative directly supports the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan for Equity by increasing workforce representation and exposing students to various career sectors—helping them see these paths as attainable.
Special recognition goes to former student leaders Favour Ezenwa, Emilea Chin, and Anulika Ezekwere for their vision and dedication in bringing this event to life. Their incredible efforts laid the foundation for its continued success. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the teacher moderators and administration team for their unwavering support and commitment to Catholic leadership throughout this journey.
With this year’s theme, “Her Path, Her Power: Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders,” the Black Professionals Career Fair continues to address the real challenges faced by Black youth while celebrating the Black professionals who are breaking barriers and creating pathways to success. Feedback from students and parents confirms the powerful impact of this event—highlighting that representation matters, and mentorship makes a difference.
The Father Henry Carr BSA is setting the standard for meaningful, student-led change.
Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
