Congratulations to Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School's Senior PREP Team, who were victorious this past weekend winning the 2026 Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Trillium Championship! The Crusaders finished the season tied for first place in the Central Division of the OSBA Trillium League and entered the playoffs as the #3 seeded team. In an exciting Championship Game, they faced off against Tall Pines Academy, with Father Henry Carr taking a 20–2 lead and never looking back.
Accompanied by several staff members, administrators and the FHC cheer team, the Crusaders defeated Tall Pines by a score of 79–73. Father Henry Carr becomes the first and only Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) school to win the OSBA Trillium Championship, and it is also a first in the history of Father Henry Carr and Coach Melnik’s career. Father Henry Carr also becomes the first high school to win BOTH the OFSAA Championship and a Prep Championship.
Father Henry Carr's Grade 12 point guard Kaden J. was named as the Playoff Most Valuable Player.
Nike has also joined in the celebrations of this victory, sponsoring the team with new championship shoes.
