Father Henry Carr Celebrates Black Excellence with Artistic Portrait Display

As an extension of Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School’s Black History Month celebrations, Mohan Hall now features a series of powerful portraits that honour influential Black Canadians who have made meaningful contributions to their communities and to the country.

These paintings were created by the Grade 12 Art students in Ms. Kovacs’ class, who researched and artistically represented these inspiring figures. Through this project, students not only showcased their artistic talents but also helped highlight the lasting impact of Black leaders in Canada.

This initiative serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and celebrating the achievements, resilience, and legacy of Black Canadians.
