On Friday, March 27, Father Henry Carr’s Black Student Association (BSA) proudly hosted its very own Next Gen Market, a vibrant, student-run business and food showcase. The event gave students an exciting opportunity to promote their own businesses and share their creativity with the school community.

The market featured a variety of student-run businesses, giving members of the school community the opportunity to support young entrepreneurs while exploring a wide range of creative products and services. From jewelry and crochet to athletic wear, hair, and nail services, student entrepreneurs showcased their talents and passion while building their brands.

Featured entrepreneurs included Eniola Y. (Grade 12), creator of crochet business Dara’s Loops and Knots; Kiana W. (Grade 11), founder of nail design business Claws By Ki; Kaden J. (Grade 12), owner of God's Grace Athletic Apparel; Lindsay I. (Grade 12), owner of bracelet brand Ophira Club; and Shanya B. (Grade 12), who offers hairstyling services through THEE STUNNA STYLIST.

In addition to supporting student businesses, attendees were able to purchase food items that celebrated Black heritage, offering an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the cultural diversity and traditions represented within the school community.

The Next Gen Market reflects the Black Student Association’s commitment to fostering inclusive spaces that uplift student voices, celebrate cultural identity, and promote leadership and innovation. By providing students with a platform to share their talents and entrepreneurial pursuits, the event encouraged real-world skill development while strengthening school spirit.

Father Henry Carr looks forward to continuing to support student-led initiatives that promote creativity, cultural awareness, and meaningful community connection.
